As part of our environmental responsibility approach, we carried out our carbon footprint assessment for the second time in 2025, based on 2024 data, in accordance with the requirements of Article L.229-25 of the French Environmental Code. This assessment is based on the official methodological framework published by the French Ministry for Ecological Transition.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were calculated using the "Bilan Carbone methodology" (V8) within the Toovalu tool. The results were consolidated in accordance with the BEGES-R framework. All direct and indirect emissions were taken into account.
We are proud to announce that this assessment has been awarded a certificate of compliance with the official methodology by an independent consulting firm.
Comprehensive and relevant analysis scope
Greenhouse gas emissions were analysed according to the three scopes defined by the methodology:
- Scope 1: direct emissions (on-site combustion, company vehicles, etc.)
- Scope 2: indirect emissions related to the consumption of electricity, heat and steam
- Scope 3: other significant indirect emissions
Since our last assessment, we have notably worked on our purchasing policy, the end-of-life management of our products, and other related areas.
To ensure the reliability of the results, the emission factors used were sourced exclusively from recognised databases:
- the Empreinte database
- the Ecoinvent 3.10 database
These sources are fully compliant with the regulatory methodology.
Conducting this assessment represents far more than a regulatory obligation for us; it is a key step in the climate strategy we are developing at VALENTIN. The carbon footprint enables us to identify our main sources of emissions and to steer our reduction actions in a targeted and effective manner. It is a crucial milestone in building a robust and effective overall strategy.
Next step: updating our emissions reduction action plan and rolling it out from early 2026.
