Chrome plating is a historical know-how at VALENTIN.
The company wanted to reintegrate this technique and is preparing the implementation of a new chrome plating line (electroplating) for January 2023: non-toxic and zero discharge.
- removal of chromium 6 (also called hexavalent) on the attack phase. Chromium 6, very caustic, is soluble and toxic to the body. The attack phase corresponds to the first stage of chrome plating: it is the roughening of the ABS to create anchor points and then allow the adhesion of the decoration.
- the elimination of chemical nickel for metallization and its replacement by a less polluting copper-based conductor
- the removal of chromium 6 for decorative chromium and its replacement by chromium 3 (also called trivalent). Chromium 3 is not toxic.
