Guide de choix baignoires

Straight baths, space-saving baths, seat baths, corner baths… a wide choice is available to you.

The centerpiece of the bathroom, it will delight children and relax adults.

How to choose the right model? Here is a guide to help you make the right choice.

The different bathtub models

Straight bathtub: the most classic of bathtubs, it is positioned against one or more walls. More or less wide, more or less long, the choice is made according to the available space. And the options are many and varied: with armrest, with central or lateral emptying, with headrest...

Bathtub with seat: the choice of the comfort of a bath in a lying position or a shower in a seated position.

Space-saving bath: clever with curves allowing a door to open in a very small bathroom, or small size like the hip bath for taking a bath in a seated position.

Corner bathtub: asymmetrical or not, the corner bathtub is ideal for rooms that are difficult to arrange and fits perfectly into a corner.

Freestanding bathtub: trendy, oval or geometric, the freestanding bathtub sits in the middle of the room. Stylish, however, it requires space and a specific plumbing and fittings installation.

Balneotherapy bath: the spa at home. The nozzles allow a gentle relaxing or invigorating massage. The whirlpool bath is available in several models: straight, corner...

The different materials

Several choices of materials are available to you:

- Cast iron and steel: rather heavy but solid and particularly insulating materials. Steel is lighter but noisy. With this material, it is advisable to insulate the underside of the bathtub for more sound comfort.

- Synthetic materials such as acrylic and resin are the most frequently used. Lightweight, they also allow you to maintain the water temperature well and are easy to maintain.

Some manufacturers, such as VALENTIN, develop sustainable materials, such as GREENACRYL: healthy and respectful of public health and recyclable.

Dressing

With aprons or tiled, it is a purely aesthetic choice. However, it is strongly recommended that in any case keep easy access under the bathtub (type inspection hatch) for maintenance of the drain or to allow a plumbing problem to be solved without having to dismantle everything.
